U.S.-Bangladesh Bilateral Security Dialogue
October 01, 2017, Dhaka – On October 3, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Michael Miller and Bangladesh Director General for the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abida Islam will chair the Sixth U.S.-Bangladesh Security Dialogue at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat will also participate.
The dialogue, established in 2012, reflects our growing security relationship with Bangladesh, and our shared commitment to peace and prosperity in the region. Discussions will focus on regional security challenges as well as on efforts to expand partnerships in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, peacekeeping, defense trade, military cooperation, and counterterrorism, as well as maritime security and territorial defense.

১লা অক্টোবর, ২০১৭ – ৩রা অক্টোবর, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের রাজনৈতিক ও সামরিক বিষয়ক ভারপ্রাপ্ত উপসহকারি পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী মাইকেল মিলার এবং বাংলাদেশ পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের আমেরিকা বিষয়ক মহাপরিচালক আবিদা ইসলাম, ওয়াশিংটন ডিসিতে, পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে যাওয়া ষষ্ঠ যুক্তরাষ্ট্র-বাংলাদেশ নিরাপত্তা সংলাপে সভাপতিত্ব করবেন। বাংলাদেশে নিযুক্ত যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের রাষ্ট্রদূত মার্শা বার্নিকাট- সংলাপে অংশগ্রহণ করবেন।
২০১২ সালে শুরু হওয়া এই সংলাপ, বাংলাদেশের সাথে আমাদের ক্রমবর্ধমান নিরাপত্তা সম্পর্ক এবং এই অঞ্চলে শান্তি ও সমৃদ্ধির জন্য আমাদের যৌথ প্রতিশ্রুতির প্রতিফলন। আলোচনার বিষয়বস্তু হবে আঞ্চলিক নিরাপত্তা চ্যালেঞ্জসমূহ, এবং পাশাপাশি অংশীদারিত্ব বিস্তারের প্রচেষ্টায় মানবিক সহায়তা ও দুর্যোগ ত্রাণ প্রসার, শান্তিরক্ষা, প্রতিরক্ষা বাণিজ্য, সামরিক সহযোগিতা, সন্ত্রাসবাদ মোকাবেলা, সমুদ্র নিরাপত্তা এবং আঞ্চলিক প্রতিরক্ষা বিষয়ে আলোচনা করা হবে।
