The American Center at U.S. Embassy Dhaka seeks visionary teachers for the Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) program. TEA is a six-week exchange program for secondary school teachers during either Spring (February – March) or Fall (September – November) 2018.
The TEA program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and implemented by IREX, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization. Participants will gain unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States. Teachers from Bangladesh will join other teachers from around the world in the United States in either the spring or fall 2018 cohort. The program will include coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, and teaching strategies for the participants’ home environment, as well as the use of computers for Internet, word processing, and as teaching tools. The six- week program will also include a two-week internship at a secondary school to actively engage participants with American teachers and students.
The deadline for application is Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
