The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has called for a demonstration in all metropolitan cities of Bangladesh, including Dhaka, and all upazilla (sub-district) headquarters on Wednesday, July 27 to protest the conviction of its Senior VC Tarique Rahman in a money laundering case.
Additionally, Hefazat-e-Islam has called for a rally on Friday, July 29, at the North gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to protest the government’s bid to impose a common sermon prepared by the Islamic Foundation on 300,000 mosques in the country for use in Friday prayers.
