Security Alert – U.S. Embassy Dhaka, Bangladesh (February 27, 2019)
Location: Dhaka
Event: The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2019. The Government of Bangladesh has imposed the following vehicle movement restrictions, which are likely to impact vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns.

| 02/28 | 0000hrs – 2359hrs | CNG, Baby Taxi (Tuk Tuk), Auto Rickshaw, Easy Bike, Taxi Cab, Microbus (VAN), Jeep (SUV), Pickup, Car, Bus, Truck, Tempo, any other local motorized vehicle will not be allowed to move in the election area. |
Embassy Operations: The Consular Section will be closed for U.S. passport, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, and visa services. The American Citizen Services Unit will still be available in the event of an emergency.
