Event: Durga Puja, the five-day Hindu festival, will take place October 1-5, 2022. Thousands of participants will gather at temples throughout the country in celebration.
Security Guidance for all U.S. citizens: The Embassy reminds U.S. citizens that large gatherings of any kind may be potential flashpoints for violence. During this time of increased activity, the Embassy reminds U.S. citizens to employ good personal security practices:
- Avoid crowds and demonstrations;
- Be aware of your surroundings;
- Keep a low profile;
- Monitor local media for updates; and
- Review your personal security plans and foster good security practices among your family members.
Review and adhere to the guidance found in the current Bangladesh Travel Advisory (state.gov) located on the U.S. Embassy Dhaka website.
