U.S. Embassy Dhaka will host its sixth Road to the White House Facebook chat on October 25 about A Day in the Life of a Candidate with Mayor Raul L. Reyes of El Cenizo, Texas. Starting on May 10 and running through the presidential inauguration in January 2017, the Embassy is hosting a U.S. expert each month who will conduct a one-hour Facebook chat on a specific election-related topic.
Join us for our October 25 about A Day in the Life of a Candidate at 7 pm. The chat will feature Raul L. Reyes, who was first elected to the office of Mayor of El Cenizo, Texas, at twenty-one years of age, which made him the youngest mayor in the United States. Mayor Reyes ran again and won with eighty-one percent of the votes for his second term. He is currently serving his fifth consecutive term. Mayor Reyes has worked to get city streets paved, the El Cenizo Fire Station established, the El Cenizo Police department and the El Cenizo Municipal Court created, and the town’s first municipal park established. He will engage with Bangladeshis on how candidates effectively reach voters in U.S. elections and discuss his experiences campaigning. Please include your questions in the comments section of the Road to the White House post that will be added to the Embassy’s Facebook page on October 24.
