United States Embassy, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Message for U.S. Citizens
Reminder – Town Hall Meeting in Dhaka with the Ambassador
April 26, 2018
The American Citizen Services (ACS) Section of the U.S. Embassy invites U.S. citizens to a Town Hall meeting for a discussion on issues that affect American citizens in Bangladesh. The Honorable Ambassador Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat and Consul General Sharon A. Weber, in addition to officials from other Embassy offices, will be present to respond to general questions or concerns.
The event will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the U.S. Embassy Dhaka Atrium. Seating is limited, so this event is open only to U.S. citizens at least 18 years of age who RSVP by Wednesday, May 2.
For those who have already RSVP’ed, we will confirm your seat soon.
For those who have not yet RSVP’ed, please RSVP via email to DhakaACS@state.gov and provide your full name and U.S. passport number. We regret that admittance to the Town Hall will not be granted if you have not RSVP’ed.
You must bring your original U.S. passport on the day of the event. Without your U.S. passport, you will not be permitted into the Embassy. We suggest arriving 15 minutes early to allow time for security checks at the Embassy entrance. When you arrive, let the guards know that you have confirmation to attend this meeting; the guards will check your name against our confirmed list. Weapons, cameras, mobile phones, and other electronic devices are not allowed inside the Embassy. Please leave these items at home. Note that you and your possessions will be subject to search and you will be asked to pass through a metal detector.
If you have questions for either the Ambassador or Consul General, submit them ahead of time to DhakaACS@state.gov with the subject line: May 8 Town Hall Meeting Question. We will read your question out loud and reply to it during the Town Hall. Please note that there is no guarantee your question will be selected given the time constraints. Remember to avoid sending personal questions or inquiries about specific cases.
We look forward to seeing you at the Town Hall!
