Event: On Monday, March 30, the Embassy helped many Americans and their family members depart Dhaka for the United States on a chartered flight. The Embassy continues to work with the Department of State and Government of Bangladesh to charter another flight in the coming days. We will announce the next flight when details are confirmed.
If you already contacted the Embassy regarding a flight you do not need to do so again. We will share registration information as soon as it is available.
The Bangladesh general holiday period remains in effect and will likely be extended. Bangladesh government offices and private sector organizations will largely be closed until at least April 4 and the government has advised everyone to stay home during this period. Hospitals, pharmacies, and food stores and markets remain open. Public transportation and banking services remain limited.
