Location: Dhaka, other major cities across Bangladesh.
Event: Local media sources report the Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation has announced a nationwide 48-hour transportation strike beginning from 6:00 am on Sunday, October 28.
Expect fewer options for public transport and potential delays due to demonstrations. We encourage you to remain vigilant, particularly in the vicinity of large crowds.
Previous demonstrations in Bangladesh have turned violent, resulting in traffic disruptions, injuries, and deaths. Participants are known to throw rocks and debris. Security forces are known to use tear gas and other crowd control measures against demonstrators, including firearms with rubber bullets.
