Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Dhaka, Bangladesh (March 05, 2020)

Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Event: The Chattro Student Federation has called for a protest at the Indian High Commission at 1100 today.

Police have controlled pedestrians and local vehicular traffic with barricades at the UN circle, and at the Bashtola, and Netunbazar intersections.

The U.S. Embassy is restricting pedestrian traffic between the Annex and the Chancery between 10:00 and 14:00.

Demonstrations may have the potential to become violent and should be avoided.

The U.S. Embassy’s Consular section will remain open for normal business.
