Location: Dhaka, other major cities across Bangladesh.
Event: Hefazat-e-Islam plans to conduct nationwide protests on October 22, 2019.
Local authorities expect a gathering of Hefazat-e-Islam supporters nationwide on October 22, 2019. There is a possibility, however, of some disruption and delays in vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout Dhaka.
Demonstrations may have the potential to become violent and should be avoided.
The U.S. Embassy’s Consular section will remain open for normal business.
