Ambassador Miller Visits Kallyanpur

Life for residents in the underserved settlement of Kallyanpur in Dhaka city, Bangladesh, was slowly improving thanks to a USAID – US Agency for International Development urban food program to assist COVID-19 victims, implemented by the World Food Programme and BRAC. Then, tragedy struck when a faulty gas cylinder ignited a fire that ravaged 41 homes and 14 businesses, 31 of which were USAID food assistance recipients. Following a WFP assessment of the damage, Ambassador Miller visited the site with partners to observe 🇺🇸 and 🇧🇩 governments’ assistance efforts for fire victims, including food, water, cooking utensils, mobile toilets, medical care, clothing and cash.
