On April 17, 2017, Ambassador Bernicat visited a Walk-Up Primary school in Mirpur, Dhaka. She met fellows of Teach for Bangladesh who currently teach at the school. Ambassador observed three classrooms and interacted with the students.
Teach for Bangladesh is an independent, Bangladeshi not-for-profit organization with a mission to end education inequity in Bangladesh. The organization seeks outstanding young leaders from Bangladesh who are passionate about making a lasting impact in the lives of students in the country’s most underserved areas. These carefully selected individuals–known as Fellows–are placed in high-need schools across Bangladesh for two years and work to affect positive, sustainable change by increasing academic achievement and access to education.
