Ambassador Bernicat at Daffodil International University Foundation Day Ceremony

On Saturday, January 28, 2017, Ambassador Bernicat visited Daffodil International University Foundation Day Ceremony and gave the Chief Guest Address.

In her address, Ambassador Bernicat said, “One of the strongest connections between Bangladesh and the United States is our profound respect for education, commitment to teaching, and passion for learning. An exceptional education can change and improve a person’s life. An exceptional university can change and improve a community. ”

Daffodil International University hosted English Language Specialist Claire Bradeen Siskin in 2015. In addition to working with faculty on modern teaching techniques, Siskin and four faculty members developed an English Language Learning app called “Live Code.” Last April, she and DIU Professor Shamsi Ara Huda presented “Live Code” at the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) International Conference in Baltimore. Several DIU professors have participated in the E-Teacher Scholarship program, and DIU student Syed Minhaj Hossain participated in the Community College Initiative program.
